Prosecutors have stated that a ex- doctor stands accused of performing assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – including acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One senior prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The charges come after what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
