Persistent rains over the last seven days have intensified the already dire living conditions of the vast number of displaced civilians in the Gaza Strip, according to aid agencies.
A representative detailed the previous night's conditions as "terrible", with precipitation so severe that as much as 15cm (6in) of water accumulated on the terrain.
"These conditions was truly terrible for the residents. The downpours were so strong... And the gales were so strong," stated the official.
Authorities voice grave concern that minors living in temporary structures in soaked garments will fall victim to hypothermia and additional ailments.
The health ministry have reported that one baby has succumbed from exposure and at least 11 other people have been killed in roof cave-ins triggered by the severe weather.
Additional accounts put a higher death toll. Spokespeople stated that multiple structures had fully given way and many others had been partly destroyed.
Groups have stepped up deliveries of tents, bedding and clothes following the ceasefire started, but they have said there is continues to be not enough aid reaching those in need.
"We are working relentlessly to provide that assistance and to distribute it, but the magnitude of the requirements is so immense that we are faced with many thousands of people and minors who are genuinely enduring hardship nightly," warned one representative.
The subsequent part of the truce encompasses arrangements for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with future administration, the withdrawal of personnel, and other provisions.
Aid groups have stressed the necessity for "expanded and ongoing humanitarian assistance to respond to immediate and future needs."
